Activity 2- Create a Blog

I officially have my own blog now. I am looking forward to the upcoming school year and cooler weather. I have just returned from a trip to Belize and the Isle of Roatan in Honduras. I had the thrill of hiking through a jungle in Belize to go cave tubing. It was a great adventure that I will not soon forget. The green lush trees and plants must have been full of creatures who seemed to be saying "welcome to our home" with their hoots, hollers and continual sounds that constantly serenaded us on our 30 minute walk to the river. When we reached the river the water was truly refreshing after the hot tiring walk. I certainly was not the most graceful getting into my tube but none the less, it was time to hook up with the person in front of me, Dana and begin our journey through the caves. I think my spot light had seen better days but the sights were amazing. It took awhile to relax and realize that Dana was not going to let go of my feet that were tucked tightly under her armpits even though she didn't seem to have a care in the world. Suzanne was nervously behind me and I could feel her discomfort. I knew my out of shape arms must hold her feet tightly. I locked my hands around her wet feet for extra support. The caves were comforting in a strange way and the clear water reminded me of how sometimes situations in this life are in shallow water and we can see everything about the circumstance clearly and objectively and other times the darkness and dept of the situation causes our fears to overwhelm our emotions and sometimes our view on reality. What an experience!
I plan to decorate my classroom in a jungle theme this school year to help me remember and share my adventures with my students.
